Yvonne Jaqueline Strzechowski was born in Werrington Downs, a suburb of Sydney, from Bożena and Piotr Strzechowski, Polish immigrants from Tomaszów Mazowiecki. The surname adopted by her, Strahovski, is the Polish pronunciation of her family surname; this in order to make it more easily pronounced, at the suggestion of Chuck executive producer Josh Schwartz. Her father is an electronic engineer, while her mother works as a laboratory technician.
