Lily James has been a Downton aristocrat and a Disney princess, and she’s dating former Doctor Who star Matt Smith. So what does Lily James have to worry about?
Lily James was born in Esher on April 5, 1989, daughter of actor and musician Jamie Thomson, who died of cancer in 2008, while her grandmother, Helen Horton, was an American actress. She started hereducation at the Arts Educational School in Tring and subsequently studied acting at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, graduating in 2010.
After several theatrical, television and film theatrical experiences became popular between 2013 and 2014 thanks to her participation in the fourth and fifth season of the Downton Abbey television series, where along with a rich cast also featuring Hugh Bonneville and Maggie Smith, plays Lady Rose MacClare.
For the choreography with other actors in the television fiction, she won the Screen Actors Guild Award for the best cast in a dramatic series for two consecutive years along with all the other performers.
The success, however, comes in 2015 when she comes to the role of the protagonist, Ella, in the Cinderella movie, a live action thriller of the 1950s animated film produced by Walt Disney Pictures and directed by Kenneth Branagh along with Cate Blanchett in the role of Lady Tremaine and Helena Bonham Carter in the role of Fairy Godmather. Previously, Lily James was photographed by Annie Leibovitz wearing the blue dress she wears for the dance scene, made by Sandy Powell at the December 2014 issue of Vogue magazine.
The following year he became part of the PPZ – Pride + Prejudice + Zombies cast, taken from the novel Pride and prejudice and zombies by Seth Grahame-Smith, in the role of Elizabeth Bennet. Always in 2016 plays Nataša Rostova in the television BBC miniseries of War and Peace from the same novel by Lev Tolstoy. At the same time she is active in the theatrical theater by reciting the role of Juliet Capulet in the famous Romeo and Juliet tragedy by William Shakespeare directed by Rob Ashford and Kenneth Branagh and performed at the Garrick Theater.
In 2017 she is protagonist, together with Ansel Elgort, Kevin Spacey and Jamie Foxx in Baby Driver movie.
