Kelly Brianne Clarkson was born in Fort Worth and grew up in the town of Burleson. She is the third and last daughter of Jeanne Rose and Stephen Michael Clarkson. Has a brother and a sister, Jason and Alyssa. When she was six, her parents divorced after seventeen years of marriage: they moved to Burleson, where her mother resumed. Her family also had financial problems, and after divorcing her parents.
She attended the Pauline G. Hughes Middle School and the Burleson High School. In the middle, a teacher heard her sing in the school corridor and asked her to join the choir. She performed at various musicals and sang to her talent show at her school. She also began to take lessons, hoping that the music would get her a scholarship.
On October 20, 2013 she married the talent manager Brandon Blackston. The couple has a daughter, River Rose, born June 12, 2014. On August 20, 2015 announces the second pregnancy. On April 12, 2016 Remington Alexander Blackstock was born.
On September 4, 2002, at age 20, she won the first ever American Idol, a talent show that would soon become the most successful program in the United States, defeating Justin Guarini in the final. She performed with the ballad A Moment Like This (written for the winner of the program and then released in on the first album, Thankful). In October of the same year the song was released as a single and established a record in the United States, moving from position 52 to 1 in a very short time.
With the album Breakaway, the singer moved away from the style of the previous album (influenced by American Idol) and turned to a more rock style. The artist co-wrote six of the twelve tracks together with artists such as Ben Moody (member of the Evanescence), and Avril Lavigne, with whom she wrote the song named after the album, Breakaway released in the United States on November 30, 2004. The album was a record-breaking success, achieving good sales. Numerous singles were added to the album, reaching the peaks of European charts and bringing the singer to the world. The most successful singles were Breakaway (written by Avril Lavigne in adolescence and later recorded by Kelly Clarkson, and contained in the album of the same name).
This song was its number one in the world rankings and sales amounted to 6,180,000 certified copies. The single Since You Been Gone has given the singer a prestigious Grammy Award. In the same evening earns a second in the category “Best Pop Album” for Breakaway. In March 2010, six years after the release, the album returns to the Billboard 200 ranking at 169 with more than 4000 copies sold in a few days in the US.
In January 2009, the single My Life would Suck Without You was released on radio, and was released as a digital download on January 16, 2009, which has reached the first position in the US rankings. She also became the first singer of the singer to reach the first position in the British chart. My Life Would Suck Without You has been a great success all over the world and to date is one of the best-known singer pieces. The single starred the fourth album, All I Ever Wanted, released on March 13, 2009. Subsequently, the album was promoted by the release of single I Do Not Hook Up and Already Gone, a song produced by Ryan Tedder, One Republic frontman.
During the promotion of this record, she shot the world with All I Ever Wanted Tour. The other two singles have been less successful but are still well known in many countries. After the enormous success of Already Gone, the record company decided to launch several singles in different countries: we find in fact in the US and Canada All I Ever Wanted (April 12, 2010), Germany Cry (August 4, 2009) In New Zealand Do not Let Me Stop You (December 13, 2009) and Ready (October 22, 2010). However, the cover for the single digital was created for All I Ever Wanted. There are other singles in the album.
On January 12, 2015 comes the single Heartbeat Song, which precedes the release of the Piece by Piece album. The album will be released on February 27, 2015 and will reach the top of the Billboard 200 for a week. The other singles from the album are: Invincible, written by singer Sia, and Piece by Piece, a song about the evolution of the singer’s life after having married and having her first daughter.
