Helena Bonham Carter is a well-known British actress who was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress for The Wings of the Dove (1997) and the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for The King’s Speech (2010). She was also nominated for seven Golden Globes, three Emmy Awards and won a BAFTA Award, and a SAG Award.
She starred in many films of the former boyfriend Tim Burton, whom Planet of the Apes (2001), Big Fish (2003), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005), Corpse Bride (2005), Sweeney Todd (2007), Alice in Wonderland (2010) and Dark Shadows (2012) and also starred in the famous saga of Harry Potter in the role of Bellatrix Lestrange (2007-2011).
Helena Bonham Carter had a childhood very troubled: when she was 5 years old, her mother suffered a nervous breakdown (from which she recovered a lot in later years), and on 13 years her father was paralyzed due to complications in brain surgery for acoustic neuroma. With her father in the hospital won a poetry contest, and used the money to put her photo in a casting catalog. After just she hired an agent, who helped her take her first steps in show business.
In 2001 she started a relationship with director Tim Burton, with whoms he has two children: Billy Ray, born in 2003 and Nell, born in 2007. At the beginning of 2014 the two are separated, remaining on friendly terms because of the children but make the news public only at the end of the year.
