Daniela Sofia Korn Ruah was born in Boston on December 2, 1983. She is an American actress of Portuguese origin, known for her role as Kensi Blye in the television series NCIS: Los Angeles.
She is daughter of Moises Carlos Bentes Ruah and Catarina Lia Azancot Korn, both Portuguese Jews. Her father was the primary hospital of Boston University. Five years after her birth, the parents retransfers in the mother country, where Ruah attended the St. Julian’s School.
In April 2013 she was officially engaged, after a year and a half relationship, with David Paul Olsen, brother of fellow Eric Christian. The two met on the set of NCIS: Los Angeles, where David worked as a stuntman brother. On 13 September, during an interview with the Portuguese program Definição High, she said she and her partner would be married the following year in Portugal, and that they were expecting their first child, then was born December 30, 2013 in Los Angeles. The ceremony encopassed both the Jewish and the Protestant tradition; her wedding dress was designed by the Spanish designer Rosa Clara.
She is affected by the nevus of Ota, a type of benign melanoma which is manifested by a grayish color in the scleral region of her right eye, and heterochromia, that is a different color between the two irises; she has indeed the right eye and the left black hazel-green. She works with various charities, including the ASPCA, Hats Off For Cancer, Beckstrand Cancer Association and Progect Have Hope.
Since 2009 plays Special Agent Kensi Blye in the television series NCIS: Los Angeles. In 2012, being bilingual English-Portuguese, double the voice of Princess Merida in the Portuguese version of Brave. In May 2013 starred in Proof, a play staged in Los Angeles.
