BTS, also known as Bangtan Boys,  are a South Korean musical group formed in Seoul in 2013.

They are having a devastating success, both in the East and in the West, shaping the present of the music world and with enormous potential for the future. Everyone wants to take advantage of the golden moment of K-pop now.

The septet writes most of its pieces, and some headlines have indicated it as the reason for its success. In their music they have explored different themes, from school anxieties to mental health, from love to lose, to death.

On October 24, 2018, the President of South Korea conferred on the group the fifth-class Order of Cultural Merit (Hwa-gwan) for helping to spread Korean culture around the world.

He is the leader and principal rapper of the group, under contract with Big Hit Entertainment. In 2015 he released his first RM mixtape and throughout his career has partnered with Korean and international artists such as Wale, Warren G, Gaeko, Krizz Kaliko, MFBTY and Primary. On June 13, 2013, Jin debuted as one of four BTS singers with the song “No More Dream” from their debut single 2 Cool 4 Skool. Although he had already written songs, he co-produced for the first time a solo piece for the Wings album in 2016, entitled “Awake“, which reached the 31st place in the Gaon Music Chart and sixth in the Billboard World Digital Singles Chart. In December 2016, he published a Christmas version of “Awake” on SoundCloud.

K-pop is an abbreviation that means Korean pop music (South Korea). Many k-pop artists and musical groups have moved away from their homeland of origin, and have broken through the music markets of all East Asia and Asian communities abroad.
