Alexandra Patricia Morgan Carrasco, better known as Alex Morgan, is an American soccer player, forward of the Orlando Pride and of the US national team. These days she participates in the FIFA Women’s World Cup, where the US team is getting brilliant results, to say the least.

Nicknamed Baby Horse by her national teammates for speed and running style, she got married on 31 December 2014 to Servando Carrasco, a Los Angeles Galaxy footballer. Morgan appeared on the cover of the US edition of the FIFA 16 football video game, along with Abel Gentili.

She played in the NCAA from 2007 to 2010 on the University of California team.

Professional football During the 2016-2017 winter transfer, Morgan moved to Europe, signing a six-month contract with the French team of Olympique Lyonnais, managing to win the championship, the French Cup and the Women’s Champions League at the end of the season, in these two last by beating the compatriots of Paris Saint-Germain in the final on penalties.

National With the US national team, she played 135 games and scored 81 goals, also winning the gold medal at the London 2012 Olympic tournament and the 2015 Canada World Cup. She also played 10 matches scoring 5 goals for the Under-20 national team.

In 2012 she signed a contract with Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing for the creation of The Kicks trilogy, starring four young girls; Morgan said she wanted to “inspire teenage girls” in her books and “demonstrate” her love for football. On September 1, 2012, the publisher announced the release date of the first two novels, Saving The Team and Sabotage Season. Saving the Team debuted at number seven in the ranking of The New York Times best-selling books in the Children’s Middle-Grade category. Amazon Studios released a pilot episode for The Kicks, based on her books, with David Babcock as a screenwriter, the pilot later became a canonical series consisting of 9 episodes
