Malin Akerman was born in Stockholm in Sweden; her family moved to Toronto, Canada when she was two. She lived for a short time in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, attending the Parliament Oak Primary School and the Niagara District Secondary School. Since 2001 she lives in Los Angeles for professional reasons.
Akerman was also the lead singer of the rock band Ozone, now known as The Petalstones. In this environment, in 2003 she met the musician Roberto Zincone, with which got married June 20, 2007 in Italy; from their union a son, Sebastian, was born, came to light on April 17, 2013. In November of the same year, the couple announced their separation. In 2009, Maxim magazine has rated the 4th place in the ranking of the sexiest women in the world.
At the age of seventeen she won the Ford Supermodel of Canada. After a modeling career started an acting career, and now resides in California. She has had roles in several films, including The Utopian Society (2003) with Sam Doumit and Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle (2004) and Rock of Ages (2012). She has made several guest appearances on TV and in 2005 she got the part of Juna in the HBO series The Comeback. She has also appeared in The Showbiz Show with David Spade as a correspondent and in the third season of the HBO series Entourage in the role of Tori.
Akerman is one of the main actresses in the Farrelly brothers’ film of 2007 The Heartbreak Kid. She played the part of Laurie Juspeczyk, Silk Spectre in Watchmen, and took part in the romantic comedies 27 Dresses in the role of Tess, and The Proposal, alongside Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. Also she participated in several TV series, including the newest Sin City Saints, Billions and Easy.
