Tanja Bauer is an Austrian sports TV journalist. She was born 22 April 1969 in Wien.
Bauer started her professional career at the ORF in 1996 as a sports editor. At the beginning she designed the TV contributions, then became an editor and later took over the moderation of the ORF sports news.
In addition, she moderated programs for the Ski World Cup. In 2001, she switched to the German pay-TV channel Premiere (now Sky Deutschland).
She moderated the daily studio broadcast to the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City. Since then, she has been mostly employed in motorsport and works as an interviewer and presenter in Formula 1 for Sky Deutschland.
In this men’s domain she is the only woman in German-speaking countries and is used worldwide as a Formula 1 interviewer and presenter.
For the print media, she is a columnist of the Tageszeitung Österreich, Bild am Sonntag as well as the Auto-Life-Style magazine Torque. She also performs at car shows, gala nights, press conferences and other events.
