Rita Ora born in Pristina, Kosovo, November 26, 1990, daughter of Besnik Sahatçiu, an economist and a pub owner, and Vera Bajraktari, a psychiatrist, both Albanian and Islamic religion ethnicity. At the age of one year, the singer emigrated with his family in the UK, settling near Portobello Road in Notting Hill area of London. Originally, Sahatçiu was the surname of the family but, on their arrival in England, her parents decided to change it in Ora (which means now) in such a way as to make it easier to pronounce for the British, however, leaving the original middle name for them and Rita. The future singer began singing at an early age. In 2004 she debuted as an actress playing a secondary role in the film Spivs and in 2009 participated in the hearings to represent the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest, but was unable to win and then to participate in the ‘important event’. In 2008 she published as a single the song Where’s Your Love by Craig David. In 2009 she was noticed by rapper and music producer Jay-Z and subsequently appears in the video Young Forever, as well as Over by Drake.
In February 2012 Rita Ora announces the publication of individual R.I.P. and How We Do (Party). The first was released in early April, together with the related video, while the second was presented a few weeks later. The album, Ora, was released on August 27 while the official cover was brought forward to July 5. On 24 May of the same year she opened the concert of Coldplay. In the same year also she played a small part in the movie Fast & Furious 6, released in 2013.
In December of 2013 she is chosen to play the character of Mia Grey in the film adaptation of the best-selling Fifty Shades of Grey by the author E. L. James. On January 30, 2014, announcing the preparation of the second studio album which will be produced by Calvin Harris. 31 March 2014 releases her first single I Will Never Let You Down which debuts at the 1st position of the UK Singles Chart. In the month of April 2014 announced that the new album there will be collaborations with Diplo, DJ Mustard and Prince.
The August 13, 2014 collaborated with Iggy Azalea for new single Black Widow that debuted at the 5th position of the US charts becoming the first top 5 and top 10, while in England reach the 4th position of the UK Singles Chart.
Since January 10, 2015 becomes coach of the fourth edition of The Voice UK, joined by Tom Jones, will.i.am and Ricky Wilson. Immediately after that edition of The Voice, it is now confirmed that will be part of the judges of the 12th edition of The X Factor UK. On February 6, 2015 was released the new single by Charli XCX, Doing It: this version will only be published in the European edition of the album, while in the North American edition there is only a solo version of the song.
The February 22, 2015 she performed Grateful, song part of the soundtrack of the film Beyond the Lights and was nominated for an Academy Award. On June 3, published the video of the single Poison, which debuted at the third position in the UK Singles Chart. On August 7, the singer publishes her new single Body on Me in collaboration with Chris Brown.
Since August 29 the singer is engaged as a judge during the 12th season of X Factor. Her artist Louisa Johnson will be proclaimed winner, during the final held on 13 December 2015. On 6 November, the group Sigma publishes the single Coming Home with Rita vocal participation, with whom will perform live for the first time during the 5 ° live show of X Factor on November 29.
