Rachel Bloom is Rebecca Bunch in Crazy Ex-Girlfriend

Rachel Bloom is an is an American comic and actress. Plays the character of Rebecca Bunch in the dramatic comedy Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, transmitted by The CW network in the United States, the series for which she won a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy Series and a Critics’ Choice Television Award for best actress in a comedy series. She is the author of the music video “F*ck Me, Ray Bradbury“, nominated for the Hugo Award in 2011.

She was born in 1987 and raised from Manhattan Beach, California. Rachel attended NYU, Tisch School of the Arts in New York City for theater. While at NYU, Rachel Bloom was the head writer and director of the school’s premier sketch comedy Group called Hammerkatz

Her first Internet music video, “F*ck Me, Ray Bradbury” went viral in 2011, while the next year Rachel performed in the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal in the “New Faces: Characters” Showcase. She also continues to release comedy music videos on YouTube, under the nickname “Racheldoesstuff“. Her writing credits include Adult Swim’s Robot Chicken (2005), Fox’s Allen Gregory (2011) and Lucasfilm’s upcoming “Star Wars Detours“. She is the daughter of Shelli (born Rosenberg) and Alan Bloom. It’s a Jewish family.
