Orly Levy is a member of the Knesset for Likud and Yisrael Beiteinu parties. Before going into politics, Levy worked as a model and television host. She also did her national service in the Israeli Air Force.
She is currently a member of the Knesset for the secular-nationalist party Jisra’el Beitenu and acts as a Deputy Speaker of the Knesset. Levy is the daughter of former Israeli Foreign Minister David Levy. She completed her military service with the Israeli air forces and later earned a diploma in law. Before she entered politics, she worked as a model and television advisor.
After the 2009 parliamentary elections, where she was on the sixth place for Jisra’el Beitenu, she moved into the Knesset. Levy is married, has three children and lives in Kibbutz Mesilot. Her brother Jackie is a former mayor of Beit She’an and a member of Likud.
She was reappointed Chair of the Committee of the Rights of the Child. In May 2016, she announced she was quitting the Yisrael Beiteinu party due to the lack of attention to social affairs in the party’s negotiations over joining the coalition government. She is considered one of the hottest politician in the world alongside Kolinda Grabar Kitarović, Belinda Stronach, Luciana Leon, Mara Carfagna and Alina Kabaeva.
