Melissa Benoist debuted as an actress in Tennessee in 2008. In May 2012, takes part in an audition for the television series Glee singing different songs: Fidelity by Regina Spektor, King of Anything by Sara Bareilles, a song by Colbie Caillat and excerpts from musicals. As of July, after a few screen tests, joined the cast of the TV series in the role of Marley Rose.
In 2013, Benoist, Jacob Artist, Dean Geyer and Becca Tobin are chosen as ambassadors of the new product of Coca Cola, P10 300 ml Coke Mismo. In January 2015 she was chosen as an interpreter of the heroine Supergirl in the TV series of the CBS Supergirl. In this TV series appears also Jenna Dewan, as Lucy Lane. In 2014 she plays the important role of Nicole in the acclaimed film Whiplash.
Around 2012 on the set of Glee knows Blake Jenner, who plays Ryder Lynn, which began a relationship. After announcing their engagement on 11 June 2013, the two are married in an intimate ceremony in March 2015, although the news was kept confidential until July of that year. On 28 December 2016, the couple announced divorce.
Melissa Benoist is the daughter of Worley Tag and Julie Benoist and was born in Littleton, Colorado. Here she attended the Arapahoe High School, from which she graduated in 2007, but, instead of participating in the graduation party, she joins the representation of Evita that her classmates are organizing at the Country Dinner Playhouse, a local now closed. In 2011, Benoist graduated from Marymount Manhattan College.
