Lena Johanna Gercke was born in Marburg, on February 29, 1988, and is a German television presenter and model, known for winning the first edition of the German reality show Next Top Model, since 2009 is the host of the Austrian version of Next Top Model.
She was romantically linked to footballer Sami Khedira, that first has played for Real Madrid and who now plays in Italy for Juventus.
In August 2004 Gercke was discovered on a regional casting for a fast food chain and afterwards booked for photoshootings and the catwalk. At the beginning of 2006, she participated in the first season of Germany’s Next Topmodel, cast by TV channel ProSieben. On March 29, 2006, she was selected as the winner of the competition, received a contract with the model agency IMG Models and appeared on the cover of the German edition of Cosmopolitan.
Gercke made among other things advertising for Oui Set, Windows Live and Katjes. She graced various covers from German and international magazines. At the beginning of 2009 she ran for the third time for various designers at Fashion Week Berlin. In 2013 and 2014 she sat in the seventh and eighth season of the show The Supertalent next to Dieter Bohlen, Bruce Darnell and Guido Maria Kretschmer in the jury. In August 2015, she moderated the show Prankenstein at ProSieben for the first time and showed hidden pranks with a hidden camera. Since 2015, she has been moderating The Voice of Germany together with Thore Schölermann.
