Jessica Simpson starred with former husband Nick Lachey in the reality show of MTV Newlyweds; she then developed his own line of beauty products called Dessert Treats & Dessert Beauty and started a career as a film actress.
Jessica Simpson, was born in Abilene, Texas, in 1980 and grew up in Richardson, a suburb of Dallas. She is the daughter of a renowned music manager Joe Simpson – not to be confused with the British climber – and er wife Tina, and has a younger sister, Ashlee, whom she herself has launched in the music world in 2004.
Jessica began singing at twelve years in the church choir attended by her parents: here was noted by some TV agents who wanted her as a baby-winner of The New Mickey Mouse Club, a TV show for the digital TV Disney Channel that launched Many other famous singers such as Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake. However, Simpson appeared so cute but also timid and embarrassed and thought she could not be successful in the show business world.
She continued singing in the Church, but was again noted by CCM, a small producer of musical CDs containing sacred songs. She made a cd of religious pieces with this label for the next three years, and after the successful release of the album, Jessica was invited to sing at the Christian Youth Conference with Kirk Franklin, CeCe Winans and the group God’s Property. She and her father sold copies of the album after her canon performance.
Tommy Mottola, a powerful talent scout from Columbia Records, listened to the album and saw Jessica’s pop star potential. So convinced the young girl to sign a contract for her record company.
For her participation in Hazzard, she received a nomination for the Razzie Awards as the worst non-star actress.
