Hailee Steinfeld nominated to Golden Globes for The Edge of Seventeen

Hailee Steinfeld was born in Tarzana, Los Angeles, daughter of Cheri (born Domasin), an interior designer, and Peter Steinfeld, a personal trainer. She has an older brother, Griffin, and her uncle is the personal trainer Jake Steinfeld. Her father is jew and her maternal grandfather is Filipino.

Hailee began acting at the age of eight years, initially taking part in numerous short films to gain experience. Has played the role of Talia Alden in the award-winning short film, She’s a Fox. She went on to make several television commercials and to be a guest on television programs. In 2010 Hailee was chosen from 15,000 girls for the role of Mattie Ross in True Grit, the appreciated movie by Coen brothers. For this performance she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards 2011. In May 2011, Miu Miu has announced that it chose Hailee Steinfeld as its new advertising face.

In 2013 she played the role of Juliet Capulet in the film adaptation of Shakespeare’s tragedy Romeo and Juliet directed by Carlo Carlei. Between 2013 and 2015 she participated in several productions including the sci-fi Ender’s Game, a film adaptation of the novel Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card. She is also in the action film 3 Days to Kill opposite Kevin Costner, the comedy Pitch Perfect 2, where she plays the role of Emily Junk, and the dramatic Ten Thousand Saints, adapted from the novel by Eleanor Henderson. Always in 2015 Hailee participates in the video of Bad Blood, the famous single by Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar. In August 2015 she released her debut single Love Myself, platinum in the United States, which has also recorded a video. The single is the first single from the EP Haiz. She has received the nomination for the Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy as the latest Golden Globes for the movie The Edge of Seventeen.
