Fergie, the Dutchess of the Black Eyed Peas

Fergie Duhamel, better known as Fergie (Stacy Ann Ferguson at birth) is an American songwriter and rapper. The singer initially belonged to the female trio Wild Orchid, but then became a member of the Black Eyed Peas. At the experience with the hip-hop group, Fergie has added a solo career began in 2006, gaining huge success with the album The Dutchess, which sold nearly 7,000,000 copies. In 2009 she returned with the Black Eyed Peas for the fifth album of the band, The E.N.D., and for The Beginning.

Fergie attended the Slash album recording of the guitarist Slash (Velvet Revolver, ex-Guns N’Roses) available in February 2010. In the album Fergie duets along with Cypress Hill in a new version of Paradise City, a song that has often performed on stage together with the historical Sweet Child O ‘Mine by Guns N’ Roses. She also recorded with guitarist an unpublished titled, Beautiful Dangerous. On October 30, 2009 Fergie performed at the 25th anniversary of the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame along with Bono and Mick Jagger singing Gimme Shelter.

On February 2, 2010 Fergie attended along with many other artists to the recording of the song We Are the World 25 for Haiti to help the people of Haiti affected by the earthquake. Also in 2010 Fergie is crowned by a famous troupe of cosmetic surgeons in Hollywood as the star with the sexiest body, excelling on the model Gisele Bündchen and on actress Olivia Wilde.

She sings in the song Gettin ‘Over You by David Guetta that counts the collaboration of Chris Willis and LMFAO. In 2010, the Black Eyed Peas released their sixth album titled The Beginning similar to the above in the sounds, which confirms the success of the band. June 10, 2010 participates with the Black Eyed Peas at the opening concert of the Soccer World Cup in South Africa, along with other artists such as Shakira, Alicia Keys and K’nann.

In the same period Fergie and the rest of the Black Eyed Peas declare that they will take some time off from the group to devote to personal projects. The singer has indeed revealed that want to have a child with her husband Josh Duhamel. In 2011, the pop star was honored with a wax statue at the famous Madame Tussauds museum in Las Vegas. At the Grammy Awards 2012 she won two awards with the Kanye West’s song All of the Lights of which she is co-writer, and she sings with rapper, Rihanna and Kid Cudi.

In 2013 appears, along with GoonRock and Q-Tip, in the soundtrack of the film The Great Gatsby with the song A Little Party Never Killed Nobody (All We Got). In 2016 she announced a new album, Double Dutchess, whose promotional single launch is M.I.L.F. $.

She joined the cast of the famous program of the years 80/90 for children, Kids Incorporated, where she remained for all editions (1984-1989). It is here that her first approach to music and acting. As a child, she was the star of various advertisements and has participated in several TV series with minor roles.

From 1984 to 1985 she was the voice of Sally Brown and then Lucy van Pelt in the Peanuts cartoon. From 2006 to date she has co-presented the music program Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin ‘Eve broadcast on the New Year’s Eve, along with Dick Clark and Ryan Seacrest.

Her first major role is Saraghina in Nine, a film adaptation of the Broadway musical inspired in the 1982 to 8½ by Federico Fellini. The film is directed by Rob Marshall and boasts names in the cast as Daniel Day-Lewis, Marion Cotillard, Penelope Cruz, Kate Hudson, Sophia Loren, Nicole Kidman and Judi Dench. The character given to Fergie is a prostitute who introduces the protagonist, at the age of nine years in the world of sex. Nine being a musical, there are various songs, including Be Italian which is sung by Fergie own and which has been defined by many critics the best number of the film.

Fergie has lent her voice in several animated movies, including Madagascar 2, Arthur and the Revenge of Maltazard, and Marmaduke, and several animated series like The Cleveland Show.
