Eliza Dushku was born in Watertown, Massachusetts, December 30, 1980, daughter of Philip R. Dushku, an original Albanian teacher Korce, and Judith “Judy” Rasmussen, a professor of American political science of Danish and English descent. She has three older brothers, Aaron, Benjamin (born February 5, 1976) and Nate, who is a model and actor. She attended Beaver Country Day School in Chestnut Hill and graduated from Watertown High School. In 2005 she visited the family of the father in Albania after being personally invited by the President of Albania; while she was there she also visited the Albanian community of Kosovo. She has also an eagle tattooed behind her neck, the symbol of Albania.
Her debut in film was in 1992 in the film That Night, while in the following year she worked in other Hollywood films like This Boy’s Life opposite Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro and even with Arnold Schwarzenegger in True Lies in 1994. In 2000 participates in the film Bring It On in the role of Missy and alongside Kirsten Dunst. In 2001 attended the casting of the television series Charmed for the role as Paige Matthews, then went to Rose McGowan. In 2003 she starred alongside Emmanuelle Chriqui in Wrong Turn.
Her name is linked to the character of Faith Lehane, starring in the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the spin-off Angel, of which the main protagonist is Sarah Michelle Gellar. She also starred as Tru Davies in the TV series Tru Calling, where she is the protagonist, interrupted in 2005 after the first six episodes of the second season. As often happens, the television career prevented her from having a continuous in the film industry. Dushku, in fact, stayed away from the big screen for about three years. Eliza also participated, as the protagonist, in the new television series Nurses, also known as Philidelphia General for Fox. Unfortunately, Fox decided not to air the series because of poor approval obtained from the episode pilot. In 2007, she shot five films: On Broadway, Nobel Son, Open Graves, The Alphabet Killer and Sex and Breakfast and even a pilot episode for a new television series. After the success of Nobel Son, the director Randall Miller decided to cast Eliza in another of his project, Bottle Shock (2008).
On 31 October 2007, Dushku has accepted the lead role in the television series created by Joss Whedon called Dollhouse, whose shooting began April 23, 2008, and debuted in the USA February 13, 2009. Eliza has appeared as a guest star in the ninth episode of the second season of Ugly Betty in the shoes of Cameron Ashlock. In 2008 Eliza has also shot the dramatic thriller The Coverup, flanked by Gabriel Mann and John Savage; premiered at the Austin Film Festival on October 18, 2008. The horror Open Graves was premiered at the “Semana Internacional de Cine Fantastico Estepona” and landed directly on American TV channel Syfy September 19, 2009 .
