When Denise Richards was fourteen her family moved to California, where Richards went to school and began her career in show business, working as a model and occasionally as an extra in music videos and TV shows.

Her film debut came in 1997 with Starship Troopers, which gave wide popularity. In 1998 it was the turn of the erotic Wild Things. This is a movie by John McNaughton where Kelly Van Ryan, a young student played by Denise Richards, falls in love with her teacher Sam Lombardo but charge him by rape, an event that would happen to the man’s house. She confesses violence to mother Sandra, a cold and selfish woman who is accustomed to fall in love with younger men, and the accusation is corroborated by Suzie Toller, starred by Neve Campbell, a girl with problems of drug addiction and alcoholism, which claims to have been raped by the teacher time ago.

In 1999, instead, Denise Richards was chosen as the Bond girl in the movie The World Is Not Enough, even if the criticism did not like her performance. Also appeared in other films such as Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999), The Third Wheel (2002), Scary Movie 3 (2003) and Yo Puta (2003).

At the end of June 2011 adopted a baby girl, Eloise Joni Richards, named in honor of her mother, who died of cancer in 2007. On tabloids had much emphasis her relationship with guitarist Richie Sambora of Bon Jovi.
