Deborra-Lee Furness, Hugh Jackman’s wife

Deborra-Lee Furness is an actress, director and film producer from Australia. She was born on Sydney December 8, 1955, and since 1996 is the Hugh Jackman’s wife. She met the Australian actor born 12 October 1968 on the set of Correlli series in 1995 and with whom she adopted two children, Oscar Maximilian (2000) and Ava Elliott (2005).

The ceremony took place on 11 April 1996 at St. John’s in Toorak, Victoria, a suburb of Melbourne. In 2014, Deborra-Lee Furness was named as the New South Wales Australian of the Year for her work in adoption campaigning.

Active in both film and theater, especially musicals, Hugh Jackman is particularly known for playing Wolverine in the movie franchise X-Men (2000-17). His career includes starring roles in many successful films, including Kate & Leopold (2001) (for which he received a Golden Globe nomination), Woody Allen’s Scoop (2006), Darren Aronofsky’s The Fountain (2006) , Christopher Nolan’s Prestige (2006), Baz Luhrmann’s Australia  (2008) and Les Misérables (2012). In 2013 he received critical acclaim for his performance as Jean Valjean in Les Miserables, for which he won the Golden Globe for best actor in a comedy or musical film, getting also a nomination for the Oscar for Best actor, BAFTA and Screen Actors Guild. In the theatrical field, he won a 2004 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical and a Drama Desk Award for The Boy from Oz. He subsequently won a special Tony Award. Recently he returned to the cinema with the hit film regarding critical and box office Logan.
