Carrie Underwood was born in Muskogee on March 10, 1983 and is a singer-songwriter and actress, rose to prominence in 2005 thanks to her victory in the fourth season of US talent show American Idol.
In her career she has sold 65 million of copies of albums and singles, the highest figure among the winners of American Idol, and has won numerous awards including seven Grammy Awards, 11 American Music Awards, 11 Academy of Country Music Awards and 17 Billboard Music Awards, and many more. As a composer she was nominated for a Golden Globe. Carrie Underwood has also won two Academy of Country Music Awards Entertainer of the Year, was the first female artist to win the award consecutively (2009-2010).
Billboard named her Best Supporting Country Artist of the 2000s, her debut album Some Hearts has been called the Best Country Album of the decade (2000/2010). In 2009 it was included in ‘Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame.
In 2013, Forbes puts her at 43rd of The Celebrity 100 list ranking, with a turnover of 31 million US dollars, while in 2014 the singer fits Time’s 100 Most Influential People in the world. Also the only country singer to have reached the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100, reaching the top spot on the Billboard 200 with all six albums and is the country singer with the most revenue in the first position in Billboard Country Airplay. In 2016 she won the CMA as Female Vocalist of the Year, also increasingly in 2016 won CMT Artists of the Year. In 2008 she became a member of the Grand Ole Opry.
