Anastacia Lyn Newkirk, professionally Known as Anastacia (Chicago, September 17, 1968), is a US songwriter, composer, record producer, philanthropist and stylist.

Among the most successful artists of the third millennium, since her inception released six albums and two collections selling about 50 million records worldwide. She has a voice considered among the most powerful and easily recognizable in the world.  She has a lot of success in Europe, Oceania, Asia, Africa and South America, while in the United States her native country has achieved a minor success.

She never hidden her personal battles with the serious illnesses that slowed down her career. In 2009 she received the World Artist Award at the Women’s World Awards as an artist who influenced the world with her music.

Anastacia began her career in 1983 as a dancer, making regular appearances in the MTV Club until 1992. In 1990 she began her musical career as a choreographer. The following year comes the Freak of Nature, the second album featuring the international hits Paid My Dues, One Day in Your Life and Why’d You Lie to Me. Shecombats many health problems including Crohn’s disease and supraventricular tachycardia. During her life she has defeated two breast cancer, one in 2003 and one in 2013, with the latter surviving through a double mastectomy that leads to another ten operations and five outpatient procedures to regain femininity.

For her commitment and dedication in the field of prevention, Anastacia became the second woman in the world to win the Humanitarian Award at the GQ Men of the Year Awards in 2013 before she only Annie Lennox.
