Alexa Chung was born and raised in Privett, Hampshire with her parents: a housewife and an English designer of Chinese origin. She is the youngest of four children: she has two brothers and a sister. After school she attended King’s College London, and completed a foundation course at Chelsea College of Art and Design.
At the age of 14 years she was put under contract by the agency Elite Model Management, which was followed by another contract two years later with the London branch of Storm Model Management. Alexa Chung then appears in magazines such as Cover Girl, Elle Girl and Cosmo Girl. She also appears in advertising campaigns for Fanta, Sony Ericsson, Sunsilk and Tampax, and in music videos of Westlife, The Streets and Holly Valance. In 2003 she also took part in the reality show Shoot Me, broadcasted on Fashion TV.
Having also worked for the BBC and Channel 4, Alexa Chung, she moved to New York where from April 2009 leads the daily show of MTV It’s On with Alexa Chung, which aired until December 2009. As of July 30, 2012 is the presenter of talent show of Lifetime, dedicated to the fashion.
From April 2007 to July 2011, she was romantically linked to Alex Turner, lead singer of Arctic Monkeys. From 2015 she appears to be romantically linked to the Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgard.
